Chester County Boudoir- Sh*t is the Best Fertilizer

Being a Chester County Boudoir photographer, I always have to keep my creative juices flowing. I was recently listening to a favorite podcast of mine (shoutout to House of Herby). Queen said, “shit is the best fertilizer”. Man, that stuck with me. Do you ever feel like today is not your day? You look at yourself in the mirror and think “I could lose this stomach and I’d feel better”, “I cannot get this project done it is going to be horrible” It’s going to look like shit.

What can I do to push forward?

Well, let me tell you that your shit is the best fertilizer. All things considered, what I mean by that is the thing you think that sucks is the beginning of something amazing. Every day we’re all just growing and learning. We can water our body gardens and sometimes it won’t always be beautiful roses. Revel in your flaws. Easier said than done I KNOW!

Sometimes, I feel like I am stuck and can’t think of new sets. You know what I do? I just DO IT. I schedule it, write it down, and just get it done. For one thing when I review afterward and think “I could have done that better” or “I should have put that person in this pose or done this prompt”. At this point, you know what happens? I have this spark and it becomes a flame and I learn from it. I find out what didn’t work and keep going.

No time for excuses

I want that for you. If you’re reading this and thinking “I would love a boudoir session but I have to xyz first”. Stop. No, you don’t because that “shit” is your fertilizer for the best feeling yet to come. I cannot explain to you how many of my clients say “I know these won’t be the best but my partner wants me to do it”. Then at their reveal, they’re in tears. Happy tears! I cannot believe that beautiful goddess is my tears. That boudoir session that started as a gift for someone else becomes a lifeline for them. You might be thinking “ok Megan how can a little boudoir photoshoot change my life like be for real It is just photos”. Seeing the clients who come from all over to lil ol me…a Bucks County photographer…
